I'm 35 years old, and I'm a dividend growth investor. If I had a dollar for every time someone has told me, "You shouldn't be investing in dividend stocks at your age"... well... I wouldn't need to invest at all.
The idea behind these comments is that during the accumulation phase of one's life (certainly in one's mid-thirties!), it would be better to invest heavily or even exclusively in growth stocks and then switch to moderate-yielding dividend growth stocks at or just before retirement.
Growth now, dividends later…
